2018, without doubt, has been a successful year for Tecno. Tecno had their first foray into smartphones with 18:9 display and also Tecno smartphones with notches were released this year. Tecno smartphone technology evolved rapidly in 2018, with a lot of Tecno smartphones to choose from.
In this article, we are going to be comparing the all-new Tecno Camon 11 Pro to the previously released Tecno Camon x pro. The fact that both smartphones have the same price tag is the basis of the comparison. Does having the same price tag means both phones have the same capacity or is featuring the same price (76,000 Naira) a marketing strategy. Answers to these questions will be provided in this article.
One of the key features of the camon 11 pro is its design. Tecno introduced an all-new glossy gradient design with the Camon 11 pro. Though this design is new to Tecno phones, it has been featured on smartphones from other brands. The rear cameras are arranged vertical manner, a stylish techno logo was also planted vertically on the rear and a fingerprint sensor sits just below the dual rear cameras. The Camon 11 Pro features a plastic cover on the rear. Though it may appear to be glass from afar, it is actually glossy plastic made from a polycarbonate material. Switching the camon 11 pro to the front, we are greeted with a very similar design from the iPhone x. The camon 11 pro features a notch. Though Notches have become a trend on high-end Android smartphones, it is very clear Tecno didn’t put into considerations, the purpose notches serve on smartphones. The camon 11 pro still features big bezels, bezels that are almost equal to that of the camon x pro.

The camon x pro having a higher display, is another fact to be considered. Having a 720p display in 2018 is completely unacceptable, but it seems Tecno featured a 720p display on the camon 11 Pro to cut down cost.

For the processor, Tecno said they decided to go with the lower P22 processor because it is the MTK processor that supports Ai and that users should not be bothered about performance as the performance of the P22 processor is almost the same as that of the P23 processor. Tecno also featured a higher ram to make up for the lower processor.

If you read the entire article, you will observe that both smartphones have significant features that set them apart. Though both smartphones offer the same price, their hardware specifications and design are different. Despite the fact the Camon x pro leads in the hardware specs category, you are probably not going to notice the difference in everyday use, because the difference in numbers is very minute. So in my opinion purchasing any of the smartphones, you are still going to enjoy the speed you desire.
With the facts explained above, it is obvious Tecno has some easter eggs hidden in the camon 11 Pro. Making the Camon 11 pro a minor upgrade of the Camon x pro and still featuring the same price tag, shows that Tecno really wants you to upgrade. If you do decide to upgrade, just know you will better getting a smartphone with a better design, better camera specs, and a Notch.
