Who said kids don’t deserve to use a tablet too? If you have that thought then Kurio thinks you are wrong. The Kurio Smart 2-in-1 is said to be the first of its kind and it is specifically made for kids. However, the hybrid’s Intel Bay Trail processor lags under light usage but since it was originally meant for kids I won’t put Kurio to judgement for this.
Its display has poor viewing angles, and its cramped keyboard makes for uncomfortable typing but do kids really care much about typing? My finding is nothing more than the fact that the Kurio Smart 2-in-1 is made for fun and motion-controlled games.It’s only surprising that the Kurio Smart is the first of its type that I’ve seen made specifically for kids.

THE DESIGN
The Kurio Smart 2-in-1 is garnished with a white-and-blue colour scheme. Kurio also never hesitated to load it with ports that can serve all your USB slotting. That aside, I’m of the view that the keyboard did not fit well with the display even though it can be slide at both left and right.
There are micro USB and micro HDMI ports, and power and headphone jacks on the tablet’s left side. Its power, volume and Windows buttons sit along the top edge.

PERFORMANCE AND PRICE
Talking on performance, the Kurio Smart 2-in-1 was very slow but with vivid graphics in the pre-installed titles Motion Playground and Animals. However , it has a Cramped, shallow keyboard; Blue-tinted display; Parental Controls that do not support all browsers.
For the display, the Kurio Smart’s 8.9-inch, 1280 x 800 display performed well in my lab tests, as it displays 80 percent of the sRGB spectrum (100 percent is excellent).
THE PRICE
Starting at N38.000 the Kurio Smart 2 – in – 1 notebook for kids is quite cheap if you ask me.
