Glo Jollific8 Tariff Plan in Nigeria: What Replaced It
Jollific8 and its 8x recharge bonus are off Glo's website. A new Glo SIM now gets a one-time ₦2,100 welcome bonus and starts on TalkMasta at 30k/sec.
Jollific8 was the plan every new Glo SIM started on, and its pitch was in the name: recharge, and get eight times the value. It came off the tariff page of Glo’s website in 2021 and has no page there now. There was never a migration code to hunt for, because only a newly activated SIM could be on it.
A new Glo line still gets something for joining, but the main gift comes once, not with every recharge. What follows is from Glo Nigeria’s own pages.

What Jollific8 was
Glo’s page for the plan, which the Internet Archive still holds, promised 800% on every recharge from ₦100 up. ₦100 became ₦800, ₦500 became ₦4,000 and ₦1,000 became ₦8,000, each with a little data to give away.
The FAQ on the same site showed where the money went. A ₦100 recharge was split into ₦100 in the main account, ₦50 for calls to any network, ₦450 for calls to Glo numbers and 25MB of data, all valid for 7 days, plus 10MB to gift. Calls were charged at 67 kobo a second, which is ₦40.20 a minute.
At that rate the ₦500 of call bonus bought about 12 and a half minutes, and only a minute and a quarter of it could go to another network. It was a big number, mostly spent at a high rate on one network.
You got on the plan by buying a SIM. You could leave it, and Glo’s FAQ was clear that you could not come back. The Archive’s copies show Jollific8 still on Glo’s tariff page in the middle of August 2021 and gone from it by late September of that year.

The Welcome Bonus
Glo values today’s Welcome Bonus at ₦2,100, and it is given once. To get it you register the SIM, recharge with at least ₦100 and make a first call.
- Calls: ₦600, charged at 50 kobo a second. That is ₦30 a minute, so 20 minutes to any Nigerian network.
- Data: 2GB, which Glo counts as ₦1,500.
- Glo TV Premium: one month.
The bonus lasts 7 days from the day it arrives. It cannot be transferred or spent on texts, and whatever is left after the 7 days is forfeited. Dial *310# to see it.
Twenty minutes to any network is more than a ₦100 recharge earned on Jollific8, where most of the bonus was for Glo numbers. The difference is that Jollific8 paid out on every recharge, and this comes once.
TalkMasta: the plan new SIMs start on
Glo’s announcement of TalkMasta says new customers are put on it automatically. Calls cost 30 kobo a second, ₦18 a minute, to every Nigerian network. For every 6 minutes you pay for, you get 6 free minutes and 100MB of data, both valid for 24 hours.

To leave, you dial the code of the plan you want. The first move in a month is free, later ones cost ₦100, and any unused bonus is lost when you go.
Oga SIM: double data
Glo calls any new SIM an Oga SIM. Its page promises a 100% bonus on ordinary data plans from ₦50 to ₦5,000, and the FAQ says the offer runs for four months from activation. It also covers existing customers who are buying data for the first time, or whose last data plan ended more than 90 days ago.

Coming back to an old Glo line
A line that has not been used for 90 days or more gets Glo’s Welcome-Back Offer when it is switched on again. Glo describes two versions, one for data customers and one for voice customers, each running for 6 months.
- Data: 500MB free in each of the first two months, valid for 7 days, and an extra 500MB with any data plan of ₦100 or more.
- Voice: ₦50 of airtime in each of the first two months, and a 100% bonus on every recharge of ₦100 or more.
The 100% bonus is charged at 83 kobo a second, ₦49.80 a minute. So the bonus on a ₦1,000 recharge is about 20 minutes of calls. Glo says it sends a text to lines that qualify, and that new customers cannot get this offer.
Recharge bonuses today
Nothing on Glo’s tariff page multiplies a recharge the way Jollific8 did. Two smaller bonuses are on its website.
The first is open to anyone. Glo says a recharge made through its Glo Café app earns a 100% bonus, so ₦200 loaded there puts another ₦200 in a bonus account for calls and data. The page does not say what rate that bonus is charged at, and the rate is what decides how much it is worth. The second is the welcome-back bonus above.
One older page, for an offer called Glo 6x, is also still on the website. No menu links to it, and Glo’s own sitemap dates it to 2020. It describes ₦600 of bonus for a ₦100 recharge loaded with *555*1*PIN#, with nothing added to the main balance and calls from the bonus charged at 73 kobo a second. That works out at about 13 minutes 40 seconds for ₦100.
We could not confirm from Glo’s current pages that 6x still runs. Ask Glo on 300 before loading a card that way.
What to do with a new Glo SIM
- Start the welcome bonus early. Recharge ₦100 or more and make a call, then use the minutes and the 2GB inside the week.
- Buy your data in the first four months. That is when Oga SIM doubles it.
- Stay on TalkMasta only if your calls are long enough to earn the free minutes. If they are not, Super Talk’s flat 15.5 kobo a second is cheaper once you call for more than about two minutes a day.
