In a previous report here on OscarMini we told you that Xiaomi was warming up to launch its Xiaomi Redmi 3, little did we know that it was even coming sooner than we expected. Well the latest on that is Xiaomi has officially launched its Redmi 3 smartphone at a price of CNY 699 (approximately N21.000). The major highlights of the latest Xiaomi Redmi 3 is its 4100mAh non removable battery. With a battery density of 685Wh/L, which extends the talk time of its predecessor by reportedly 80 percent, the Redmi 3 comes with support for 5V/2A fast charging as well.
THE DESIGN
In terms of design the new Xiaomi Redmi 3 boasts of a metal body along with a textured rear panel. It will be available in gold, grey and silver color variants.
THE SPECS
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 packs plenty of power and speed to meet your needs. the smartphone features a 5-inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. It sports an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Xiaomi Redmi 3 runs on an unspecified Android version with MIUI 7.
In addition to this, the new Xiaomi Redmi 3 also sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash along with a 5MP front facing camera. The selfie camera also supports full-HD recording.
The dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM also includes connectivity features such as Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/EDGE, Micro-USB, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is not yet available in Nigeria. However, the device is available on Mi.com and Tmall and will go on sale in China starting tomorrow. When available in Nigeria it will sell for around N21.000.
