Samsung finally announces four smartphones that in celebration of their 10th anniversary which includes a 5G smartphone. The newly published smartphone from Samsung has been the trend on the internet since on the 20th February that it was announced.
The names of the smartphones from Samsung consists of the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, S10e, and the Samsung Galaxy X. But today, we will be discussing only the Galaxy S10e, if you want to get more information about the other ones listed, then check out our previous reviews on them.
Design
When it comes to design, the Samsung Galaxy S10e resembles the Galaxy S10, though there are little apparent changes. The most observant difference that you will notice is the absence of the triple camera from the S10e; you will only find two.
Also, by the side of the S10e, there is a captive fingerprint sensor by the hand of this device rather than under the display. Nevertheless, it still comes in with the same 2D facial recognition featured on the two siblings.
There is an AKG-tuned speaker on the S10e, and there is also the presence of our beloved 3.5mm headphone jack and Wi-Fi 6.
The Galaxy S10e is a bit smaller than the others, but the weight of this smartphone is lovely, 150 g. Despite the S10e comes a little bit smaller than its siblings, yet it offers a large display, though it’s a flat display rather than the dual-edged that it’s other siblings offer.
Just like the other siblings, the Galaxy S10e features an almost all screen with just a little to practically no bezel both the top and the bottom. On the front of the screen is a single punch hole at the top-right where the camera sits. The screen size of this device is 5.8-inches, and it also has IP68 water and dust resistance.
Camera
Talking about the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S10e, which is also one of the strongest points of this smartphone. The newly announced smartphone is expected to arrive with a dual rear camera which is different from the triple cameras that are featured on both the S10 and S10 Plus.
The dual camera setup that is featured on the back of the Galaxy S10e consists of a 16-megapixel Ultra-Wide lens which also has an aperture of f/2.2. There is another dual Pixel 12-megapixel wide lens that is accompanied by a dual aperture of f/1.5 to f/2.4 respectively. The rear camera setup is the same with the one featured on the S10, though the S10e doesn’t come with a third telephoto lens.
We noticed that the S10e rear cameras wouldn’t be featuring the optical zoom like the S10 and S10 Plus(+). There are yet other features that the S10e missed out on; like the Shot Suggestions and the Scene Optimiser which you see on the camera settings menu of the S10 and S10+.
Performance
When it boils down to return the Samsung Galaxy S10e goes head-to-head with its siblings. The smartphone also comes along with the octa-core 8nm processor for other nations. Meanwhile, there is another version of the smartphone that uses the Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) for residents of USA/LATAM and China, just like its other siblings, the S10 and the S10+.
The Samsung Galaxy S10e runs on the Android 9.0 (Pie) coupled with the company’s UI, which is among the most comprehensive reworkings of Android.
There are two storage versions of the S10e, the one with the 128GB accompanied by a 6GB of RAM, while the other is the version with the 256GB internal storage with an 8GB of RAM. The memory can still be expanded up to 512 GB using a microSD (uses SIM 2 slot), and it is for the dual SIM model only.
