The Tecno Pouvoir 2 android device is the 2nd smartphone in the Pouvoir line by Tecno. Being a successor to the Tecno Pouvoir 1, it packs to itself much more features and we are going to have all those covered in this Tecno Pourvoir 2 Review.
The Tecno Pouvoir 2 smartphone was announced in May 2018 and it’s a 6.0-inch display smartphone with a massive 5000mAh battery, which obviously is the major selling factor for this device.
Being a midrange device, it also sports some amazing specs, at least for the price such as a 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 1.3 GHz quad-core MTK processor and the battery as mentioned above. In fact, below is the quick specification overview of the Latest Tecno Phone, Pouvoir 2.
Tecno Pouvoir 2 Quick Specification (Specs) Overview
Here are what you should know about the specs on this device.
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB ROM which is expandable to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
- 13MP/8MP rear and front-facing cameras respectively both with L.E.D flash.
- 5000mAh battery.
What we get Inside the Box
While unboxing this device, here are what you are expected to see straight out of the box.
You get to see first off that this pack comes in to be quite simple, with everything shouting for you to get you reaching for it. Here are things to expect.
- The Tecno Pouvoir 2 smartphone (obviously)
- The manual
- A microUSB 2.0 cable
- The wall socket to USB adapter
- A pair of earphones
- A flexible rubber case to protect this device.
Below is an unboxing video that’s been done over at our Youtube channel so you get to see for yourself the content in the box.

Design
Design wise, though the Pouvoir 2 is made of plastic, Tecno still had a premium design at the back of their mind. It actually does feel durable at first grip and you’d barely recognize that this smartphone is made of plastic.
You get to see the rear 13MP camera with an LED flash, the fingerprint sens0r and the Tecno branding at the back of the device.
Coming to the front, you are greeted with the 6.0 HD display, the front-facing 8MP camera, LED flash and also a notification LED.
Now, talking about the sides of this device, you see the power button, volume down and volume up and the SIM card tray (supports Dual SIM) at the right and to the left, there’s a tray for the microSD card. Yes, you have support for both Dual SIMs and microSD card simultaneously and not like the hybrid counterparts.
And below is the MicroSD card and SIM tray
Generally, the design looks great and I wouldn’t say there is a downside to how this smartphone has been sculpted.
Camera
This one, for a mid-range phone, isn’t the worst there is out there. When it comes to taking photos in well-lit environments, you can definitely count on this camera, but talking about low light, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 will, well, disappoint (at least in my opinion). Fine, there’s LED flash for both the rear and front-facing camera to help save the day, but I’m not a huge fan of flash on a smartphone’s camera.
The front-facing camera, on the other hand, has support for Portrait mode as said on the pack, but the bokeh wasn’t really impressive. It wasn’t really getting it when compared to major flagship devices like the iPhone X ( wonder why I’m comparing a $130 device to a $1000 here).
The camera comes down to be a decent one for the price this smartphone is sold at and you shouldn’t be expecting much.
You might want to check out the pictures that were taken by this camera so you’d understand how the shots are. Kindly find the photos in the video review linked above.
Performance
When it comes to the performance of the Tecno Pouvoir 2 smartphone, you shouldn’t expect a whole lot. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and runs Android 8.1 Ore0 straight out of the box.
I had to run both Geekbench and Antutu Benchmark on this device and here are the results I came up with below.
And here’s the Geekbench result below
What all these mean at the end of the day is that you won’t be able to efficiently run tasking applications on this device. But when it comes to the basics, you can rest assured it will handle.
Battery
Now, this is the major selling factor for the Tecno Pouvoir 2. It does boast of a 5000mAh and from the claims, would last you 4 days on standby, hence the 96hour smartphone claim on the pack and commercials.
I ran a test on this phone, though the “standby ish” was all true, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 android phone will only last you 2 days on a regular day-to-day usage. This was verified after a full 1-week test I ran on this smartphone.
Talking about charging up this phone, while it doesn’t have support for quick-charge, you have a 2A charger that actually helps charge this device from 0 to 100% in about 2.5 hours and that’s quite fast if you consider the battery size here.
Generally, the battery is where this device does beat most other smartphones out there in the market for me.
Other Features of the Tecno Pouvoir 2
The Pouvoir 2, though cheap, packs to itself a couple of features most people would love, ranging from the fingerprint sensor at the rear (actually works pretty fast). You also have the option to unlock this smartphone using the FaceID feature added to the front camera as a means of security (this isn’t as fast as the fingerprint option).
Price
The Tecno Pouvoir 2 sells online and in smartphone markets for $130 and that’s N45,500 here in Nigeria.
Verdict
If you are in search of a basic Android smartphone that would be able to stand a tough 2-day usage without having to go searching for a power outlet to charge this device, then the Tecno Pouvoir 2 is the one affordable option you have and more so it runs on the recent Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
But if you are in search of a performance beast to power your graphics hungry and processing churning applications and games, or even the best camera you might want on a smartphone, well, those are not the strengths of this device and I’ll advise you pass on to another smartphone.

My own which is pouvior 2 is always overheating even if I am using it to play games
And battery drain down a lot

It sure is. Used it for 2 days straight on a single charge.
Can it be used as powerbank?
No, it can’t.
I can’t turn on the front camera flash. Only the led. Why’s that?
