The next iteration of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be launching in March/April. This is according to a Bloomberg report quoting Samsung’s mobile executive VP, Lee Young- hee. The report also indicates that Samsung is considering the inclusion of Iris scan technology in the Galaxy S5.

Iris scanning and recognition technology if included in the Samsung Galaxy S5 will give Sammy something to fight the Apple’s fingerprint biometric authentication feature, the Touch ID in the iPhone 5S with. Iris scanning could enable users of the Galaxy S5 unlock their phone or authenticate certain services simply by scanning the iris of their eye.
Young-hee was also quoted as saying that the Galaxy S5 will launch together with the next iteration of the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch. He also promised a fresh design which suggests that the Galaxy S5 could offer noticeable differences in look and feel compared with the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 .

Rumours have it that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with an alluminium body and a curved display.
