TECNO Ranks 6th among Africa Best Brands Ranking for the sixth consecutive year in the recently released Africa’s Best Brands 2021, representing yet another distinguished recognition of the brand’s leadership in Africa.
Established in 2011, the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings are the most authoritative survey and analysis of African brands and businesses.
Despite the pandemic’s challenges, including worldwide supply and demand issues, TECNO maintained its position. With the 2017 Brand Africa rankings, TECNO has reclaimed the top spot in Africa’s mid-to-high-end mobile brand segments.

“TECNO made a strategic decision to focus exclusively on Africa from the first day of our business,” Vincent Uzoegbu, Public Communications Manager, TECNO, said at a virtual event organized by Brand Africa. “When we first entered Africa, our core strategy focused on Sub-Saharan Africa, where mobile phone penetration was still shallow and largely ignored by global mobile phone manufacturers.” The goal was to develop a phone that will appeal to African consumers and improve the lives of as many Africans as possible by bridging the digital divide via technology and innovation.”
TECNO has been working relentlessly for years to achieve this goal. TECNO’s Phantom, Camon, Spark, and Pova smartphone series have set multiple records that define the brand’s success and appeal on the continent, demonstrating the company’s unwavering commitment to providing Africa with the finest in technology and innovation.
There had never been anything like it in Africa before TECNO introduced twin SIM cards. To fight the epileptic power supply in locations like Nigeria, TECNO was the first to produce long-lasting batteries that lasted three days. The company was also the first to offer camera solutions on cellphones that fit the dark skin of the majority of Africans.

The company is dedicated to its role in the mobile technology industry and to providing its clients with innovative and beautiful goods.
After more than a decade of dedication and consistency, the rewards are finally coming in. TECNO was named Africa’s top smartphone brand in 2020 by Counterpoint Research earlier this year, claiming that the company made improvements in mobile camera technology and continues to invest in the market despite a challenging year. TECNO has once again risen to the top of Brand Africa’s new rankings, establishing itself as a major player in Africa’s mid-to-high-end mobile brand segments.
