On October 28, 2021, Twitter announced that due to popular demand by users for a feature that’ll allow users Spaces to record and replay sessions, it would be launching a Spaces recording feature to some hosts on iOS. Many users found the users interesting while hoping that the quality would update to accommodate all iOS and include Android users.
On January 13, 2022, Twitter announced that it had launched the Spaces Recording to everyone on iOS and Android via its Spaces account.
All hosts on Android and iOS can now record a space session, which will be available for public playback for 30 days after the Space has ended.
What are Twitter Spaces?
Twitter launched Twitter Spaces in November 2020, which allows users to have live audio discussions. The feature only allowed users with up to 600 followers to host a space when it was released.

In October 2021, when the company began testing Spaces Recording, the Spaces was made available to all Android and iOS. Users host these discussions in a “Space,” an audio chat room where other users can join.
Since launching, Twitter has rolled out a couple of updates for the audio-based conversation feature, Space. Hosts can invite up to two co-hosts, and ten people can speak in a Space session.

The audio chat room is entirely open to the public; anyone can join a Space conversation; however, hosts can remove people from the chat room.
Here are the steps you’ll take to start up a Twitter Space:
- Long press on the Tweet compose on your Home timeline and then tap the new Spaces icon (multiple circles forming a diamond shape) on the far left. Or, tap on your profile image at the top of your timeline.
- When creating a new Space, you will see options to Name your Space and Start your Space.
- To schedule a Space, tap Schedule for later. Choose the date and time you’d like your Space to go live.
- Once the Space has started, the host can send requests to listeners to become speakers by tapping on the people icon and adding speakers or tapping on a person’s profile picture within a Space and adding them as a speaker.
The most pleasing thing about Twitter Spaces is that users are no longer restricted to 280 characters when expressing their ideas. With Spaces, users are free to speak for as long as they like and have other speakers who will respond in real-time.
Furthermore, Twitter aids users in building closer ties with their target audiences. As a result, it’s an excellent opportunity for businesses to communicate with their customers, making this a perfect time for the new update. Hosts can now record their important sessions and leave them up for the public to access for a limited time.
