With the impending demise of the Microsoft Surface smartphone which seem not to be enjoying too much patronage, Microsoft seem to be seeking out ways to maintain a stand in the smartphone market. The latest development is its intended partnership with world’s most popular operating systems – Android.

Microsoft Apps Will Soon Come on Most Androids

Microsoft has stated that its apps will soon be featured on Android devices from 76 companies in 2016. Microsoft has said that its new partners will offer or, will soon offer Android devices pre-installed with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive and Skype. Most Microsoft services are available on Android devices such as LG G Pad 2, Samsung Galaxy S6, Sony Xperia Z4 and many others.

The company says, “Our strategic agreements with these partners, in which IP alignment is an important feature, demonstrate how Microsoft is leveraging the scale of the hardware ecosystem, and working with partners in new ways to deliver rich experiences to our customers.”

This is a welcomed development if you ask me. What do you think?
