The new Pixel Buds is Google’s second attempt at giving its customers a wireless earbud. Their first attempt exposed some flaws that the company has tried to correct this time around. Like the 1st generation, the new Pixel Buds is home to Google Assistant built-in, which can be used by voicing these words out, “Hey Google.”
As an upgrade on the 1st generation, the buds are cordless and both earpieces are not tethered together.
What Can The New Pixel Buds Do?
Apart from them being wireless earbuds, Google has also come out to say that the 2nd-generation Pixel Buds will provide hands-free access to Google Assistant as soon as they paired with a device running Android 6.0 or later.
Via the assistant, users will be able to send an SMS, request for directions or translation assistance. With one touch, owners can play, pause and volume.
Immediately it is paired with an iOS device though, Google’s Pixel Buds will begin to function as normal Bluetooth earbuds, without Google Assistant.

Google has said the Pixel Buds will pair with Pixel devices and other phones running Android 6.0 and later with one tap. Users can also pair with other Bluetooth 4.0+ devices, PCs and tabs. The buds will remain connected to your smartphone 3 rooms away indoors or 100 yards away outdoors.

The new Pixel Buds will provide 5 hours of continuous listening time with a full charge. Or twenty-four hours when you use a wireless charging case.
