Apple Watch can now make video calls with its new feature from Wristcam. Wristcam is the most innovative and feature-packed Apple Watch strap/accessory. This handy Apple Watch strap, released in 2020, came with a dual-camera configuration that allowed users to film high-quality videos with their wearable.
Previously, it merely served as a conventional camera, allowing you to shoot images and record movies without having to remove your phone. Video calls are an obvious next step in that direction, but if you’ve been longing to FaceTime your buddies on your Apple Watch, you might want to hold off.
Wristcam users will be able to make video calls without having to use their iPhones due to this. A short promotional film from the company demonstrating the new feature is provided below.

It’s worth noting, though, that the video calls will be hosted on Wristcam’s app rather than FaceTime. Although it now allows FaceTime voice calls, video calls were not possible due to the lack of an in-built camera.
However, the new Wristcam feature is presently only available to users who request it through the company’s official website. Regarding the feature’s complete availability, the company claims it is now working with a range of developers to improve it. Wristcam will roll out the part to all of its users in the following weeks after improving support and compatibility.
Users will be able to make watch-to-watch or watch-to-phone video calls once the feature is available. Both parties will need to install the Wristcam software on their Apple devices to make or receive video calls.
