Best Sniper Games for Android: Offline, Free and Paid

Start with Sniper 3D. It is free, and its Google Play listing says the missions can be played with no Wi-Fi and no data. Pure Sniper, from Miniclip, makes the same promise for its campaign.

If you would rather pay once, Hitman Sniper costs $2.99 in the US and only ₹45 in India.

We read the Google Play listing of every game on this page. The descriptions, prices and age ratings below come from those listings. Where a game plays offline, we say whether its maker wrote that or Google Play attached its own “Offline” tag.

Sniper games at a glance

Google Play shows a different rating in each country. The last-but-one column is the rating on its Indian and Nigerian stores, which was the same in both for every game here. It is sometimes stricter than the American one: Sniper Zombies is Teen in the US and 18+ in India and Nigeria.

Eight of the ten are rated for older teenagers or adults in at least one of those stores. Last Hope and Sniper Champions are the exceptions.

Offline sniper games

Sniper 3D

Wildlife Studios’ game was on our old list, and it came up first when we searched Google Play for sniper games. The listing counts more than 180 weapons and describes missions in different parts of the world, with real-time matches against other players for when you are connected.

Its offline promise is the plainest of any game here: an offline mode whose missions need no Wi-Fi or data. Google Play adds its own Offline tag as well.

Pure Sniper

Miniclip’s listing opens by saying the campaign can be played offline, with real-time matches against other players as the online half. The campaign moves through cities around the world, and the side modes include hostage rescues, a gun range competition and missions flown from a helicopter.

Kill Shot Bravo

This is the sequel to Kill Shot, which was on our old list. The listing counts more than 4,000 missions and describes the game mostly by its online side: live duels against other players, alliances and in-game chat. Its feature list ends with an offline single-player experience, and Google Play tags it Offline.

Clear Vision 4

A sniper game drawn with stick figures. Eldring’s listing says every mission can be played for free and counts more than 40 of them, from bounty hunting to hostage situations. It calls itself the follow-up to Clear Vision 3, which we used to list.

The developer does not mention offline play. The Offline tag on it is Google Play’s.

Zombie sniper games

Last Hope – Zombie Sniper 3D

JE Software’s arcade game is set in a desert after civilisation has ended, and it starts you off practising on cans and bottles. The listing says it works offline and that no internet connection is required to play.

It has the mildest rating of the offline games here: Teen in the US, 12+ in India and Nigeria. The sequel, Last Hope Sniper 2, adds online multiplayer to an offline story mode and is rated Mature 17+.

Sniper Zombies

From VNGGames Studios, which also makes Dead Target. The listing counts more than 300 missions and 15 maps for offline play, with real-time matches against other players online.

It is also the only listing here that states its size: 150MB.

Story-led and paid

Hitman Sniper

The one game here with a price. It costs $2.99 in the US, ₹45 in India, ₦3,230 in Nigeria and £2.69 in the UK. It was Square Enix’s game when we first listed it and is now published by Deca Games.

You play Agent 47 through more than 150 missions and 10 contracts, with 16 guns to unlock and a separate mode against zombies.

Paying does not clear everything away. Google Play still shows its “Contains ads” and “In-app purchases” labels on the listing. The listing says nothing about offline play and carries no Offline tag, so try it with your connection off before you count on it.

LONEWOLF

SHD Games calls this a neo-noir, story-driven sniper adventure, and the listing opens with its own warning that it is not suitable for children. The story mode runs to more than five hours across 30 missions, told with hand-drawn cutscenes. There are over 20 weapons and a dozen mini-games.

It is free with adverts. Its in-app purchases stop at $5.99, the lowest ceiling of any free game in the table. Offline play is not mentioned.

Online sniper games

These are built around other players, so they need a connection.

Sniper Fury

Gameloft’s listing describes an online game: over a thousand missions, a story mode, clans and arenas where ten players meet. It also notes that some of its in-app purchases are paid random items. Google Play gives it no Offline tag.

Sniper Champions

Also from Gameloft, and the only game here rated Everyone. You shoot at targets on a range, one against one with another player online, and upgrade your rifles as you move up the leagues. Nobody gets shot. The listing apologises that there are no ducks either.

Two more for live duels

Sniper Strike from Mobile Gaming Studios and Sniper Arena from Bad Santas both put live duels against other players at the front of their listings. Sniper Arena is the only game we looked at whose listing has no “Contains ads” label.

What happened to our old picks

• Hitman Sniper, Sniper Fury, Sniper 3D and Last Hope: still on Google Play and covered above.
• Kill Shot and Modern Sniper: both are still listed. Kill Shot is now published by Fresh Build Games. Modern Sniper, from Candy Mobile, has more than 50 missions on six maps. Google Play tags both Offline.
• Clear Vision 3: its listing has gone. Clear Vision 4 is the one on the store now.
• Sniper X with Jason Statham and Call of Mini: Sniper: both listings have gone from Google Play.
• Contract Killer: Sniper: we could not find it on Google Play.

Which one to pick

• Free and offline: Sniper 3D, or Pure Sniper.
• A small download: Sniper Zombies, the only listing that states a size, at 150MB.
• A story: LONEWOLF.
• To pay once: Hitman Sniper, which makes most sense at India’s ₹45.
• For a younger player: Sniper Champions if they will be online, Last Hope if not.
• Against other people: Sniper Fury.

Whichever you choose, open it once on Wi-Fi before you travel. Games often fetch more data the first time they run.

Which sniper games for Android work offline?

Sniper 3D, Pure Sniper, Last Hope – Zombie Sniper 3D and Sniper Zombies all say so in their Google Play listings. Kill Shot Bravo promises an offline single-player experience.

Is Hitman Sniper offline or online?

Its Google Play listing does not say, and Google Play does not tag it Offline. The only online feature the listing names is its leaderboards.

Is there a free sniper game without ads?

Not among the ones that play offline. Every free game in our table carries Google Play’s “Contains ads” label. Sniper Arena does not, but it is an online game with in-app purchases.

Is Sniper Elite on Android?

We found no Sniper Elite game from Rebellion, the series’ maker, on Google Play. Rebellion’s Sniper Elite 4 is on Apple’s App Store for iPhone and iPad.

What happened to Hitman Sniper: The Shadows?

Its Google Play listing has gone. The original Hitman Sniper is still on sale.
