Note: this two apps, Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials are really not different, it’s just that Microsoft Security Essentials which is in Windows 7 is an upgraded name for scaning in Windows 8 which is called Windows Defender.     Well Frank, Its helpful knowing the use of the Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender for Windows 7 and Windows 8 respectively. However, while scanning is helpful in detecting threats to a system, it is still best to have the best to have an installed!This post was found in kingged where it was shared and upvoted.

    This is an alternative to installing anti-virus softwares, but on your own opinion if you think it’s best having the installed software then stick to your choice.
