Intel’s first hire when it was founded in 1968 and CEO in 1987 Andrew Grove passed away at the age of 79 yesterday.
Grove was one of the key figures of the information age, helping Intel become the world’s biggest chip maker with his famous hard-charging management style, summed up as “only the paranoid survive.”
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Intel Chairman and CEO Andy Grove,” said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, in a statement. “Andy made the impossible happen, time and again, and inspired generations of technologists, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.”
It’s obvious the technology scene would forever remember him.
