how to reset wordpress password using phpmyadminThere can be times when you forget your wordpress password, and normally, you can always click on the Lost Password link found in the WordPress login page and the reset link would be sent to your email. Anyway, there is an alternative.

In this post, I will teach you how to reset or recover your wordpress password from your phpMyAdmin in your cPanel without going through the hassle of sending the a reset mail. Here is the little tutorial.

How to Reset WordPress password using phpMyAdmin

  1. Login to your cPanel and click on the phpMyAdmin link under the Database menu.
  2. Locate the database of the wordpress blog you wish to change the password, then click on it.
  3. Now click on the users table on the left task-pane (it should look something like wp_users).
  4. The list of all users would appear, click on the user you wish to change the password, click on the Edit link next to the name.
  5. A new page would load, click on the drop down list next to password and select MD5, now type in your new password into the password box and click on Save.

That’s it, you have successfully changed (reset) your wordpress password using phpMyAdmin. Share this post if it was helpful.
