Lagos Postal Codes in Nigeria, Area by Area

Victoria Island is 101241, Ikoyi 101233, Yaba 101212, Surulere 101283, Allen Avenue 100281. Lagos has no single code, so go by your area.

The first three digits tell you which side of Lagos a code belongs to: 100 for the northern mainland, 101 for the Island, Eti-Osa, Yaba, Surulere and Apapa, 102 for Ojo, Ajegunle and Festac, 103 for Badagry, 104 for Ikorodu, 105 for Ibeju-Lekki and 106 for Epe. No single code covers the state.

A form that insists on one code for all of Lagos will take 100001, the head post office at 1 Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja. A courier will still need your street.

These codes trace back to NIPOST’s earlier online lookup, now offline, through the independent site Nigeria Postcodes. We kept only those backed by a second list or an official address, so some estates are missing. The map above covers the first three digits only, and we note below where it disagrees. To check one, ask at a post office (NIPOST’s Post Office Finder lists them) or write to [email protected].

Ikeja, Agege and Ifako-Ijaiye

  • Allen Avenue and Opebi: 100281
  • Oba Akran, Adeniyi Jones and Ikeja GRA: 100282
  • Maryland and Mende: 100211
  • Oregun: 100212
  • Ojodu: 100213
  • Agege: 100283
  • Dopemu: 100273
  • Oko-Oba: 100284
  • Ifako: 100215
  • Iju-Isaga: 100216
  • Ojokoro: 100313
  • Alagbado: 100314

Alimosho

The most populous local government in Lagos has no one code either.

  • Egbeda, Idimu and Abule Egba: 100276
  • Alimosho town: 100275
  • Ikotun and Egbe: 100265
  • Igando: 100267
  • Akesan: 100268
  • Ijedodo and Abarenji: 100269
  • Alakuko: 100271
  • Ipaja: 100278
  • Suberu Oje: 100351
  • Meiran: 100361

Kosofe, Mushin, Shomolu and Oshodi-Isolo

  • Ogudu: 100242
  • Ketu: 100243
  • Alapere: 100244
  • Ikosi: 100246
  • Magodo: 100248
  • Fadeyi and Ilupeju: 100252
  • Mushin: 100253
  • Shomolu: 100231
  • Pedro: 100233
  • Oshodi and Shogunle: 100261
  • Ajao Estate: 100263
  • Bungalow Estate: 100264
  • Isheri Osun: 100266

NIPOST’s map prints 101 for Shomolu, but the list descended from its later lookup has Shomolu and Pedro on 100. We have kept the list’s numbers. Either will pass a form. For a letter, a post office can settle it.

Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki and Ajah

  • Victoria Island: 101241
  • Ikoyi: 101233
  • Obalende: 101232
  • Dolphin Estate: 101222
  • Ajah: 101245
  • Lekki town and the villages near it, such as Ebute Lekki and Idata: 105102

Lekki Phase 1, Chevron and the estates along the expressway have no line of their own in any list we could trace to NIPOST, so we have not given them one.

You will see 106104 printed after Lekki and even Victoria Island addresses, including NIMASA’s on the Nigerian Trade Information Portal. In the NIPOST-derived list, 106104 is Agbowa, a district of Epe. For Victoria Island use 101241, which the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency prints for its Kofo Abayomi Street office and the NCC’s licensee list shows for Karimu Kotun Street.

Lagos Island

  • Lafiaji: 101223
  • Epetedo: 101224
  • Isale Eko: 101226
  • Idumota and Olowogbowo: 101227
  • Onikan: 101231

Lists that give one code for the Island usually quote 101223, which is Lafiaji’s.

Yaba, Ebute Metta and Surulere

  • Yaba and Ebute Metta East: 101212
  • Ebute Metta West: 101211
  • Makoko: 101244
  • Surulere Central: 101283
  • Ijeshatedo: 101282
  • Bode Thomas and Adeniran Ogunsanya: 101211
  • Lawanson: 100254
  • Itire: 100281

Two mix-ups to watch for. Codes from 210102 to 210105 belong to Surulere in Oyo State, not this one. And 101245, often quoted for “Lagos Mainland”, is Ajah’s number.

Lawanson and Itire are the odd ones here. NIPOST’s map gives Surulere 101, yet the list has both on 100, and Itire shares its number with Allen Avenue in Ikeja. Check those two before relying on them.

Apapa, Ajegunle, Festac and Ojo

  • Apapa: 101251
  • Olodi Apapa: 102241
  • Ajeromi: 102103
  • Bakare Faro: 102216
  • Kirikiri Industrial: 102272
  • Amuwo-Odofin: 102102
  • Festac Community II: 102312
  • Festac Community III: 102313
  • Festac Community IV: 102314
  • Satellite Town: 102361
  • Ojo and Trade Fair: 102101
  • Okokomaiko: 102105
  • Navy Town: 102341

Alaba is split across several codes between 102108 and 102115, so go by your zone of the market area rather than the name.

Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry and Ibeju-Lekki

  • Ikorodu rural areas: 104101
  • Irepodun, Ikorodu: 104102
  • Epe town: 106101
  • Ejinrin: 106102
  • Erodo: 106103
  • Agbowa: 106104
  • Badagry town: 103101
  • Ibeju: 105101

Estates inside Ikorodu town use codes from 104211 to 104233. We could not confirm those one by one, so they stay out.

The new LA code is something else

Buildings in Lagos now also get an 11-character NIPOST postcode starting LA, such as NIPOST’s sample LA 12 K23 IV 95. It points to one building, and NIPOST’s finder shows it free of charge. It will not fit a six-digit box, so a foreign site still wants a number from the lists above. More on that in the Nigeria zip code on foreign forms.
