After the announcement and release of the OnePlus 7 Pro which was also announced alongside the 5G version, OnePlus has decided to release the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G in June 2019.
The 5G version has the same specs and features like the normal OnePlus 7 Pro apart from the 5G network. The new smartphone arrives with market-leading flagship features like its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The 5G network is like the rave of the moment and almost all the smartphone makers are promising to add it to their smartphones or later in the future. Let’s see all the features and specifications this smartphone has to offer.
Design
Like we mentioned at the beginning of this review, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G has the same design language as the younger sibling, OnePlus 7 Pro.
The material which was used for building this smartphone consist of both front and back glass. Meanwhile, the frames are made of aluminum as expected. The new smartphone features an all-screen display and this was made possible due to the motorized pop-up selfie mechanism employed.
The well-rounded edges of the smartphone seamlessly join with the glass display. Just like the younger sibling, the 5G model retains the 6.67 inches Fluid AMOLED display which uses the Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The screen has a nice resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The large screen will be great for streaming movies and other media activities.
The smartphone uses the motorized pop-up selfie to double as a Face unlock feature. You also get an In-screen display fingerprint sensor which is quite responsive and fast.
The triple camera setup on the back of the smartphone still maintains the same positions were they where. Under the triple primary camera, you will find the LED flash for brighter shots even in low light condition.
The 5G model also brings along the same three colors. the Nebula Blue, Mirror Grey, and Almond, just like the OnePlus 7 Pro.
OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Camera
The cameras of the 7 Pro 5G are four in total and they feature triple primary cameras just like other new flagships. The Motorized pop-up selfie is a single sensor.
The three primary cameras on the back of the smartphone comprise of a 48-megapixel main sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) and f/1.6 (wide) aperture. The 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor is the second shutter and it comes with an f/2.2 aperture and an impressive 117-degree field of view.
The third is an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor which comes with features like OIS, 3x zoom, and Laser/PDAF.
OnePlus also added some interesting features on the hardware of the camera. Some of the hardware includes the enhanced Nightscape (version 2.0) scene mode and the pixel-binning technology; the combination of four pixels image data into one to reduce shake and noise.
The selfie camera is the single 16-MegaPixel Motorized pop-up selfie sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, Auto-HDR, and 25mm (wide). The cameras just like their younger siblings also offer interesting shots.
Performance
The performance of this smartphone is where the major upgrade lies. Just like the slogan of the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is ‘Go beyond speed’, you can only imagine the performance of this speed demon.
The new smartphone brings in the main feature which makes it stand out from its younger sibling, 5G network. The smartphone is one of the fastest smartphones when it comes to performance and speed. It almost measures up with the Samsung Galaxy S10 series in terms of performance and speed.
Unlike its sibling, the smartphone comes with a 5G network which makes it more faster in terms of the network. You can also find the Snapdragon 855 chipset which also comes with a nice boost in clock speed.
Like the younger siblings, it comes in three different RAM configuration which includes 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The second is an 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, while the base model is 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.
All the models do not have room for further storage expansion, as you are stuck with whatever storage model you purchase. You will experience a lag-free performance as we also run various apps in the background while downloading files and watching videos all at once.
OnePlus also added the world faster UFS 3.0 read/write speeds making OnePlus 7 Pro and 5G the first smartphone feature such.
The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G runs on the company’s OxygenOS 9.5.7 software based on the Android 9.0 (Pie) OS. The smartphone retains the 10-layer liquid cooling system which under the glass, preventing the smartphone from heating up.
It also comes with the 20-minute digital break feature called the Zen Mode which stops you from accessing the smartphone for 20 minutes. This is to help reduce the current smartphone addiction, though you can receive and make calls, take photos in that mode.
It also retains the built-in screen recorder capable of capturing things happening on your display. You can decide to do a play-by-play video tutorial and also be allowed to either record internal or external audio.
OnePlus 7 Pro Battery
The 7 Pro 5g still didn’t make any changes in the battery department and everything was as it was. The battery is a Non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery capable of offering you a full day use with moderate use.
The new smartphone also brings along the Fast battery charging 30W (Warp Charge). Under the smartphone, you will find the 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector used for powering your smartphone.
From 0% you can have an extra battery juice of 60% within 30 minutes and you have about 93% in about 1 hour.

OnePlus 7 Pro Price
Just like the younger sibling, the 5G model comes in three different versions and they all have a different price tag.
The smartphone is set to be released in June which means you can start making orders from June. You can place your orders on the company’s official website or other online or offline stores.
The price of the new smartphone has not yet been released. But from the extimation and comparism from the OnePlus 7 Pro and other smartphone of the same range, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will cost within £839 and £899 in the UK.

You better look for another device if what you want to enjoy in a smartphone revolves around powerful & blameless cameras. You can buy the Huawei P30 Pro, Google Pixel 3, or Pixel 3a if you want a spotless camera.
The smartphone will not be the best for you if you want a handy smartphone with small display. The 5G phone comes with a big display which you will have to deal with handling it with one hand.
