South Korea Technology Giant, Samsung has decided to expand its A-series by introducing another great GEM into the market which they tagged as the Samsung Galaxy A10s.
The Galaxy A10s is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy A10 which was released in the first quarter of this year 2019. One of the obvious upgrades that you will first notice on the Galaxy A10s is the extra primary camera that has been added making it a total number of two primary cameras featured on the A10s.
Apart from the aforementioned, there are yet other major upgrades in which the new smartphone features. We will be discussing each feature in their appropriate section in this article. All you have to do is sit back with a glass of cold drink as we dive into the review in proper.
Design
Just like its predecessor, the Galaxy A10s still maintains the plastic body build, while the front is made of glass. The front view of the new smartphone will make you feel that nothing has really changed, but at back is where the big change lies.

On the back of the Galaxy A10s, you will a dual primary camera vertically placed on the left-hand side. Beneath the primary camera set up is a powerful LED flash that helps in producing clear and well-detailed impressive images.
There is yet another interesting upgrade featured on the A10s, and it is the fingerprint sensor that is positioned a little bit above the middle with the word “Samsung” written below it.

The new smartphone has a body dimension of 156.9 x 75.8 x 7.8 mm (6.18 x 2.98 x 0.31 in) and weighs just 168 g (5.93 oz). The smartphone is not water-resistant but we are not surprised considering the price tag at which the device comes in.
On the front of the A10s, you will find the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen comfortably fitted. The infinity-V display screen measures 6.2 inches, 95.9 cm2 With a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~271 PPI density).
On the top of the screen, lies the selfie camera shooter which is comfortably seated inside the waterdrop notch. Meanwhile, the notch on the smartphone is now ultra-slim, though the bezel on the bottom seems to be a little bit obvious. The video streaming and gaming experience of the Galaxy A10s is really fascinating.
On the right side of the smartphone lies the power button, while the left side is where you find the volume buttons. The new smartphone is presented in four-color models; the Blue, the Green, Black, and Red which happens to be my favorite.
Camera
Having a smartphone that offers you a beautiful camera and media experience is one thing that everybody loves to have in a smartphone and that is what the Samsung Galaxy A10s offers.

The Samsung Galaxy A10s has a total number of three (3) cameras with two of them on the back while the single selfie camera is comfortably seated on the front.
The dual primary cameras on the back of the A10s are made up of a 13 MegaPixel with an f/1.8 aperture and 28mm (wide), AF. While the second is a 2 MegaPixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for depth sensing. Other great features from the primary camera department include an LED flash, HDR, panorama, and the ability to carry out a 1080p@30fps Video recording.
Inside the dewdrop notch on the front of the A10s lies the 8 MegaPixels selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Just like the primary cameras, the selfie camera is capable of producing impressive images.
Performance
Another area where you notice an improvement is in the performance of the A10s. Powering the device is a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) processor which handles the performance of the smartphone.
The Chipset is assisted by an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53, while the PowerVR GE8320 GPU helps for better graphics experience. The new smartphone also runs on the latest Andriod Operating System which is the Android 9.0 (Pie).
The octa-core chipset used in powering the new smartphone is significantly faster than that of the A10, with four 2.0GHz and four 1.5GHz cores. This explains the improved performance on the A10s, especially when gaming or using other processor-heavy applications like a high-definition video.
For all your storage purposes, you have two alternatives; the first A10s model with a 32GB internal storage and a 3GB RAM OR the 32GB internal storage with a 2GB RAM. The storage of all the models can be further expanded up to 512 GB via a dedicated slot.
Just like its predecessor, the A10s supports 4G, 3G, 2G, and also supports dual Nano-SIM card slots. The smartphone doesn’t support NFC, but other networks connectivity featured on the smartphone includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, hotspot, 3.5mm Jack, GPS, FM radio, A-GPS, micro USB 2.0, GLONASS and other components.
Battery
The battery of the A10s is a lot better than that of its predecessor which featured only 3200mAh. The A10s features a Non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery which delivers a longer life even with power-hungry applications such as video playback and others running all day.
Samsung official announcement claims “the Galaxy A10s can keep up with you all day, whether you are gaming, streaming, or broadcasting live”.
When using the A10s smartphone, I noticed that charging the new smartphone was way shorter than other low-budget smartphones. It was able to offer me a full charge under 3 hours even while using it.

Samsung Galaxy A10s Price
Despite featuring such great features and specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A10s still maintains a low price tag. The device currently sells for $125 which is equivalent to about 45,300 Naira in Nigerian currency, which is about 12,899 KSh in Kenya currency.
You can actually purchase the smartphone from any authorized Samsung smartphone dealers around you. You can also purchase this smartphone online and the price for both online and offline may slightly differ because of the location and region.
Verdict
Overall you can hardly find much fault from the Samsung Galaxy A10s because it was built bearing flagship in mind. With a smartphone offering you a better gaming, media and camera experience, longer battery life, great performance, all at an affordable price; what more can you possibly ask for?
