For those who don’t know him (I’d wonder why). Stephen Hawking was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge.

He battled with motor neuron disease and yet had a great impact on what we know about the universe (the time space continuum) through his book “A Brief History of Time” in 1988. His theories definitely unlocked a universe of possibilities that we & the world are exploring today

He died at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday 14th day of March 2018.

He had touched our sense of understanding in the world of physics and here are a few tweets from Neil deGrasse Tyson and others around the world in tribute to the star we just lost in the cosmos.

His passing has left an intellectual vacuum in his wake. But it’s not empty. Think of it as a kind of vacuum energy permeating the fabric of spacetime that defies measure. Stephen Hawking, RIP 1942-2018. pic.twitter.com/nAanMySqkt

Remembering Stephen Hawking, a renowned physicist and ambassador of science. His theories unlocked a universe of possibilities that we & the world are exploring. May you keep flying like superman in microgravity, as you said to astronauts on @Space_Station in 2014 pic.twitter.com/FeR4fd2zZ5

RIP Stephen Hawking. Genuinely very sad to hear that. If you haven’t, read A Brief History of Time. It’ll make the world feel more amazing and beautiful and strange. It’ll also make you feel smart and stupid all at once.

A star just went out in the cosmos. Someone who deeply influenced my thoughts on the space-time continuum. We will forever love and cherish your contributions to humanity. RIP Stephen Hawking (1942-2018)
