Older models of Samsung’s foldable phones and smartwatches will soon be able to update to the most recent versions of One UI, gaining access to new features like multitasking gestures, optimizations for large-screen devices, first-party app enhancements, a taskbar akin to a PC, new watch faces, and customizations for Galaxy smartwatches, as well as optimizations for large-screen devices.
Samsung’s One UI 4.1.1 is based on Android 12L and was first seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Samsung has begun rolling out the UI 4.1.1 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices globally today, with all users expected to receive it within the next few days. Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Fold will receive the One UI 4.1.1 update at some point, though no timeline has been provided.

Users of these older folding handsets will be able to take advantage of features such as the Taskbar, which allows for quick switching between applications and the ability to drag and drop apps to create a split view. A new two-finger multitasking gesture is also available, allowing you to switch full-screen apps to pop-up windows or split your screen in half for improved productivity.
The ability to adjust settings, make calls, dial back missed calls, and reply to texts (via voice-to-text) from the cover screen, as well as take selfies with the main camera via Rear Cam Selfie, will be added to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
The One UI Watch 4.5 was first available on the Galaxy Watch 5, and it is now available on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. This includes six new interactive watch faces, additional customizations, and a new QWERTY keyboard. Samsung has not specified a date for the release of Watch 4.5.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be eligible for a separate software update around the end of September. This update will include “selected features” from One UI Watch 4.5, such as two new watch faces, snore analysis, and blood pressure and ECG measuring support in the Samsung Health Monitor app.
