Twitter Now Allow Any Account to Get Verified

Twitter eases it all by allowing every user access rights of their account verification. In 2009 Twitter introduced the blue tick badge, and it is so appalling that even 1% of the 310 million Twitter users account are not verified. This is due to the fact that there has not been an open room for users to apply for verification of their accounts, it usually takes a form where Twitter contacts selected organisations, brands and popular figures or celebrities which they consider worthy of verifying their accounts.twitter

What’s New? Twitter has let the floor for verification open for any account that has a verified phone number, valid email address, a profile photo plus a header photo, birthday, website, bio and public tweets. This means that if you have the above requirement, you can apply for your account to be verified on the company’s support page. This process also requires some additional information such as scanned legible copy of a government-issued ID alongside giving tangible reason(s) why your account should be verified.

It was stated by the company that “an account may be verified if it is determined to be of public interest.” Having the blue tick automatically enable users access some unique features such as filtering mentions, likes and replies notifications to only show the ones from other verified users. Awesome isn’t it?

The company’s vice president of Users Service (Tina Bhatnagar) said that the company’s goal is to offer more engaging and informative accounts that the public can follow:

We want to make it even easier for people to find creators and influencers on Twitter so it makes sense for us to let people apply for verification. We hope opening up this application process results in more people finding great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for these creators and influencers to connect with a broader audience.

After you have successfully applied for the verification, the company will send you a mail on your application status, if or not it was approved. The application process will be available worldwide this week as said in a released statement by the company.
