Today, I decided to make a guide on how you can easily build a customized mobile version for your wordpress blog using Carrington mobile theme. Though I’ve been a huge fan of the mobilepress plugin as that’s what I’m currently running on this blog, I still find it necessary to point a guide that would guide Carrington mobile lovers install and use the mobile pack theme for their wordpress websites.

Installing Carrington Mobile In WordPress

Don’t worry, we won’t be messing around with codes as you can easily install and activate the Carrington theme from your wordpress dashboard following the given steps below. Firstly you have to download the Carrington mobile theme from here.

1. Login to your wordpress dashboard. On the left sidebar, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload . A new page would load where you can upload the theme you downloaded earlier.

2. Upload and install the theme, but DO NOT ACTIVATE it.

3. Now, you have to install a plugin known as WPMS Mobile Edition from the WordPress repository and activate this plugin.

    Hello Oscar,

There can be nothing like ‘too much responsiveness’. While the whole world is gravitating to mobile devices, our task as webmasters is to give them a very great site that would blend in an excellent fashion with their devices. Great entry with very easy steps and procedures I must say.

    Always,
    Terungwa

    NB

The intext idea looks very great now. How do you like it?

      Hi Abdul,
Why not check your Carrington settings page in your WP dashboard. The required settings would be found there.

I am currently working on adapting my website Morenaija.com to mobile phones. In order
to achieve that, I am using a special theme for mobile
    users (carrington mobile). Besides,
I am currently trying to adjust styling but modifying my
carrington mobile style.css file won’t result in any
changes as far as styling. Paying a close look to the code
in the header-default file of CM, I have noticed that
much of the styling is actually coming from the /css/
advanced.css file instead of the style.css file, which
actually doesn’t seem to be triggered in my header file.
Consequently, I have tried to modified styling in the
advanced.css file but nothing is happening. I still get the
default styling coming with the carrington mobile theme.
In conclusion I would like to be able to edit all the css
parameters mentionned in the advanced.css but I just
have no clue how to do that…
For information, my stylesheet lines in the header are
    the following
    @import url();
