Hi Ekta,
There a times, especially for a new blog, that Google bots/spiders do not crawl pages on your website or blog. This means that when people search for content related to what you have written, you won’t stand a chance of appearing on the search result. Submiting your url to Google helps let Google crawl and find updates to the said page.
One thing to note is, if your website is usually being crawled and new content is always discovered by Google, you do not have to go this route.
