Jumia Pickup Station Near Me in Nigeria

Jumia lists over 500 pickup stations in 33 states and the FCT. How to find the nearest, what to take along, and the 5 business days you have to collect.

Jumia’s own pickup station finder has 515 stations, the physical locations where your online order is sent for you to collect in place of delivery to your door. The list keeps changing, so a copy of it here would soon be wrong. You do not need to be signed in to use the finder.

  1. Tap your state in the row marked “Select your region”, or type an area, a station name or a landmark into the search box.
  2. Read the card for each station: address, landmark, weekday hours, Saturday hours and a phone number.
  3. Use the card’s Map or Directions button. Every station is also pinned on a map of Nigeria.

How many stations each state has

By our count the finder covers 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Lagos has the most at 75, followed by Delta with 41, Ogun 40, Oyo 37, the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers 34 each, Edo 27, Osun 23, Anambra 21 and Ondo 20. Jigawa, Taraba and Zamfara have none on the list.

Akwa Ibom, Kaduna and Kano have 14 each, Imo has 13, Enugu and Niger 11, and Abia and Kwara 10. Cross River has 9, Ekiti and Kogi 8, and Bayelsa, Benue and Nasarawa 5. Ebonyi and Plateau have 4, Borno and Sokoto 3, and Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Katsina, Kebbi and Yobe 2 each.

Jumia pickup stations in Lagos

The Lagos list includes stations named for Ikeja (Opebi), Ikoyi, Yaba, Ikorodu Garage, Sabo-Ikorodu, Egbeda, Okota, Ojota, Lawanson, Gbagada, Satellite Town, Ijegun, Agungi, Festac, Ketu, Isolo, Ogba, Agege, Badagry and Epe. Tap Lagos on the finder for the address and hours of each one.

Opening and closing times

Each station keeps its own hours. The commonest on the finder are 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday. Many open at 9am, about 50 stay open until 7pm on weekdays, and Saturday closing is usually 5pm or 6pm. Only one station on the whole list shows Sunday hours, so plan on Monday to Saturday.

Choosing or changing your station

You pick the station at the point in checkout where you choose a delivery method. Jumia’s help centre gives these steps:

  1. Select Pickup Station.
  2. Click Change.
  3. Select your region, look through the cities near you and confirm the pickup address that comes up.
  4. Click Select Pickup Station.

Look at the station’s address before you place the order. Jumia says the delivery method and the delivery details cannot be changed afterwards. The only way to fix a wrong station is to cancel the order, which Jumia allows while it has not been shipped, and place it again.

Collecting your order

Jumia sends an email or SMS when the order reaches the station, and its delivery time runs from the day you order to that first SMS. If the message has not come by the delivery date shown at checkout, use Live Chat from the Help menu on Jumia’s site, or call 02018881106.

Once it arrives you have five business days, after which Jumia cancels the order. Its delivery timelines page says five days without the word “business”, so go early.

Take an identification card and the order details: Jumia asks for the order number, the tracking number and the name of the item. If you chose to pay on delivery, you pay at the station first. Jumia then requires you to open the package in front of the station agent, to check that the order is complete and genuine.

For paying on delivery, the help centre recommends a bank transfer through JumiaPay. Some places are prepaid-only, where you have to pay by card when you order. Jumia keeps a list of those locations.

Pickup fee against door delivery

Jumia’s help centre says collecting from a pickup station is cheaper than door delivery, but it publishes no fixed fee. The fee depends on where you are, the size of the item and the delivery method, and Jumia shows it on the product page and again at checkout. Its shipping fees page sorts items by size: a phone counts as small, a laptop as medium and a fridge as large. To see the saving on your own order, switch between pickup and door delivery at checkout before you pay.

A station also suits anyone who is out in the daytime. Door deliveries come between 7am and 5.30pm on Jumia’s timetable, so somebody has to be in, while at a station you choose the day and the hour within its opening times.

Door delivery is the better choice for anything large. A fridge still has to get from the station to your house, and paying for that can cost more than the fee you saved. The same goes if the nearest station is a long trip away.

Returning an item at a station

Pickup stations are also where returns go. Jumia’s help centre says it no longer offers reverse pickup, the service where someone came to collect the item, and tells customers to drop returns off at the nearest station.

  1. Sign in to your Jumia account and open Orders.
  2. Choose the order, select the item and give the reason for the return.
  3. Choose how you want to be refunded.
  4. Select the pickup station you will take it to.
  5. Check the details, submit the request and take the item to that station.

Jumia accepts returns of eligible items within 7 days of delivery, in the original condition and packaging. It says you pay nothing to return an item and the refund includes the delivery fee. Processing a return and refund typically takes 1 to 8 business days, and the bank can take 3 to 10 business days more.
