If you’re someone like me who doesn’t like video calls this new Meta feature is your holy grail. It can be very annoying when you’re lounging at home and just being all over the place, hair not done, that one t-shirt you’ve worn 3 times in a row, and someone video calls you out of nowhere. You want to ignore the call because you’re not camera ready, but you can’t because you’re not one to ignore calls from people you care about, or just anybody.
I’m pleased to be the carrier of this amazing news, there is a solution that lets you hop on that video call and not look like a crazy person.
This innovation by Meta allows you to hop on any video call as an avatar, Apple already has this feature in Facetime but not all our friends and family use Apple products which makes this feature a delight.
People using Facebook Messenger and Instagram can now use avatars to communicate during a video call, this avatar mimics every of your facial expression making the person on the other side understand you still. The Meta Avatar is available on Android and iOS, you can choose any cartoon character of your choice, whether it’s a cute kitty or just a person.
To activate this feature and make it accurate you can take a live selfie on your Facebook or WhatsApp and in no time, you have some suggested avatar options based on the selfie you just took. And just like any other App with avatars, you can personalize the features to best represent you and your style.
As we know, Meta runs Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Whatever your avatar looks like will be standard across these platforms to match your appearance.
As the world evolves, we only expect innovations that make the quality of our social lives better in every way, I can’t wait to try this out.
