The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is one of the flagship phones launched by Motorola for 2021 and is part of the 2021 Edge trilogy. The Edge 20 Pro is the high-end premium model of the trilogy and comes with amazing features like a bigger battery and an upgraded processor.
Unboxing
The Edge 20 Pro comes with a pre-installed silicone protector case, a 30W adapter, and a type C USB cable.
Design and Display
Like the Edge 20, the Edge 20 Pro has a slick and beautiful finish. Though not as thin as the Edge 20, it feels really light for a premium phone. The device has a 6.7 OLED screen clad with a Gorilla Glass 5.
The 6.7-inch OLED display features 10bits color reproduction and HDR 10+ support with an amazing 144Hz refresh rate and 576 peak touch sampling rate.

The downside is that Motorola did not increase the IP rating of the Edge 20 Pro. The Edge 20 Pro retains the same IP rating that the Edge 20 has, IP52, dust, and water-repellant.
Despite the IP52 rating, the Edge 20 Pro has a good quality build and design and leaves a high-quality impression.
Software and Performance
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and has Android 11 pre-installed. There are also the promised two years android updates. User experience is enhanced by Motorola’s MyUX user interface and the ‘Ready For’ functions which enable one to connect to an external TV or a computer screen wirelessly.

The memory configuration ranges from 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is no room for storage expansion through a microSD card. The device supports Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, dual 5G, 4G VOLTE, six satellite systems, and dual-sim functionality.
Powered by the processor and the 8GB of RAM, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro is capable of handling intensive 3D games, heavy tasks, and running multiple apps. The big AMOLED display with the 144Hz refresh rate support high-level streaming and the device has great speakers. Overall, the Edge 20 Pro promises great performance.
Camera
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has a triple rear camera setup just like the Edge 20. However, the Edge 20 Pro features an all-new 5X zoom periscope telephoto. There is also a 108MP main camera, a 16MP ultrawide camera that doubles as a macro camera because it has autofocus, and a 32MP selfie camera.
Battery
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery capacity, which is more than what’s available on the Edge 20.

The 4,500mAh battery is powered by the 30W adapter and type C USB cable that comes in the Edge 20 Pro box. With casual usage, the device lasts a little over a day, and with heavy usage, the device lasts about 15 hours. The charging is also relatively fast as the device goes from zero to 100% in a little over an hour.
Verdict
The amazing thing about the Motorola Edge 20 Pro is not just that it is built beautifully and has a premium feel but that the device is also powerful in performance. There is the upgraded battery, processor, the 8GB of RAM, and a nice 144Hz refresh rate. These features promise an experience any user should be satisfied with.
