Tecno recently added a number of different smartphones in their various series and they all bring along interesting features. The Pouvoir 4 and Pouvoir 4 Pro were among the smartphones released.
You can find our honest review of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 in the video below. You can also continue reading if you don’t feel like streaming the video. For me, I prefer videos because they save me the time of scrolling down. If you are like me, then you can check out the Oscarmini YouTube Channel where you can find other videos of me and my team reviewing lots of new phones that just hit the market.
If you decided to continue reading, then let’s quickly dive into providing you with an insight into both the pros and the cons that the Tecno Pouvoir 4 brings along.
Unboxing
When you ripe the plastic coat used in packaging the Tecno Pouvoir 4, you will find other interesting items in the box. First, you will see the smartphone itself with a cover that highlights some of the features of the device.
The other things you will find in the box include a Warranty card, a silicone protective case, Power brick, Micro USB 2.0, User Manual, and finally an earpiece for listening to radio, movies, and more.
Design and Body Build
It seems that the manufacturer of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 are trying to blur the line between a smartphone and a tablet – I wonder if it’s going to be called a “Phablet”.
On the front side of the Pouvoir 4 sites a whopping 7.0-inch IPS LCD display which I think is large enough for exciting gaming and video streaming experience. The display houses a teardrop notch which also houses the single selfie camera.
Do I say it’s unfortunate that the Pouvoir 4 arrived with a plastic finish? But come to think of it, it’s very much okay at the price which the device arrives with. The shiny back has beautiful lines on them which usually shines when light reflects on them.

The right side of the smartphone holds the volume button, while the power button lies right below the volume button.
On the left side of the Pouvoir 4, you will find the dual nano-SIM tray which is seated on top of the phone personal assistant button which also serves as a google assistant launch button.
Under of the Pouvoir 4 is seated the microphone, headphone jack (3.5mm jack), MicroUSB 2.0 port and finally the speaker grill.
Display
One of the selling points of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 is its display. The display features a massive 7.0 inch IPS LCD display which brings along a screen resolution of 720 x 1640 Pixels (~246 PPI density).
It was also able to achieve a 20.5:9 Aspect Ratio. Generally, I’m satisfied with the color reproduction and the brightness of the display considering the price at which it’s sold for.
Performance and Specs
When it comes to performance, the Tecno Pouvoir 4 doesn’t stray too far from its predecessor. The Pouvoir 4 features a minor spec bump of what the Pouvoir 4 had. I believe this to be a deliberate act in order to maintain the price category.
The Pouvoir 4 ships in with a HIOS 6.1 which runs on the Android 10 operating system. Powering the Pouvoir 4 is a moderate quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 Processor with the assistance of a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

The Tecno Pouvoir 4 features a huge battery life which happens to be an invariable feature of the Tecno Pouvoir series.
You don’t need to minimize the number of your activities as a result of power when using the Pouvoir 4. The whopping 6000mAh Non-Removable Li-ion Battery will confidently take you through all your daily task which includes gaming, streaming of movies, running multiple apps, and more.
While the body of the Pouvoir 4 might be attractive, it wouldn’t allow the smartphone feature a wireless charging. So, don’t expect a wireless charging or fast charging on the Tecno Pouvoir 4.
Camera
Camera is not the mainstay of the Pouvoir 4. Nevertheless, they moderately ok, and are capable of producing decent images.
There was a major upgrade in the camera section. Tecno was able to step up their game with the Pouvoir 4. The Pouvoir 4 now features pental cameras which is a big improvement compared to the dual cameras on the Pouvoir 3.
At the back of the smartphone, on the left side, you will find a quad-camera setup which comprises of the main sensor, 13MP camera, double 2MP secondary cameras, and finally, a low light sensor which aids photos taken in low light conditions.
The teardrop notch on the front of the Pouvoir 4 holds a single 8MP camera sensor that is capable of handling all your wild selfie ecstasy. You will also find a dual-camera flash system at the front of the Pouvoir 4.
Price
You don’t need to break the bank in order to have one Tecno Pouvoir 4 to yourself – It’s a budget smartphone. It falls under the same price range with the Tecno Spark 5 that was also recently launched.
The price of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 is around $140 which is approximately 54,500 Naira in Nigeria. That translate to about 808 Ghana Cedi, and 14,875 Kenyan Shillings.
Just as we mentioned above, the Tecno Pouvoir 4 is expected to be in the market any time around June 2020.
Verdict and Conclusion
We have been able to state all the specifications and features of the Pouvoir 4, alongside its weakness and strength. There’s no smartphone that is meant for everyone, they all target a particular market or should I call it, the audience – The same is also true for the Tecno Pouvoir 4.
While the device may not be a pro when it comes to taking perfect selfies, the size of the device is a plus for gaming and streaming of movies. You will definitely enjoy YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime with the Pouvoir 4.
Apart from the huge display, the Pouvoir 4 also features a huge battery which will do for those who usually use lots of power-consuming apps.
