I truly don’t understand how people pay to listen to music on these apps when they can listen to it for free on these same apps but with little hiccups like advertisements, not being able to download songs and create a playlist. Thinking about it now, that’s a lot of hiccups, but still.
Spotify premium price just went up, and users will have to pay extra to enjoy music on the app.
Yesterday, the music streaming service announced that they will be increasing the price of a premium membership from $9.99 to $10.99 a month.
Apparently, all the other memberships prices will go up too. The duo membership will increase from $12.99 to $14.99 a month, family membership from $15.99 to $16.99, and student membership from $4.99 to $5.99.
An extra dollar added, and we the international folks are not left out. In Nigeria a dollar is now 815NGN, can you see why I can’t hop on that train? Maybe I’m just broke. But it won’t be increased by 815NGN, maybe 100NGN because primum is 900NGN right now.
Anyways, according to report, subscribers will have one month to rethink their decision or just pay. The new prices will go into effect in a month.
Amongst other music streaming services like Amazon, Tidal, Apple, and YouTube Music Premium, Spotify is the only one to raise the price of a single subscription to $10.99 a month.
