StarTimes Packages and Prices in Nigeria (2026)
StarTimes bouquets run from Nova at ₦2,100 a month to Super at ₦9,800, with a weekly option from ₦700. Channels, football, a year's cost and which to pick.
StarTimes Nigeria sells four main bouquets, Nova, Basic, Classic and Super, and it sells them twice: once for decoders that use an antenna and once for decoders that use a dish. On the antenna they cost ₦2,100, ₦4,000, ₦6,000 and ₦9,500 a month. On the dish they cost ₦2,100, ₦5,100, ₦7,400 and ₦9,800. The channels differ too, so the first thing to know is which decoder you have.
When this page was first written in 2014 there were three bouquets, at ₦1,000, ₦2,000 and ₦3,000 a month. Nova, the cheapest today, is ₦2,100.
StarTimes packages and prices in Nigeria at a glance
| Bouquet | Platform | Per week | Per month | Channels on StarTimes’ list |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nova | Antenna | ₦700 | ₦2,100 | 32 |
| Basic | Antenna | ₦1,400 | ₦4,000 | 81 |
| Classic | Antenna | ₦2,000 | ₦6,000 | 101 |
| Super | Antenna | ₦3,200 | ₦9,500 | The same 101 as Classic |
| Nova | Dish | ₦700 | ₦2,100 | 48 |
| Basic | Dish | ₦1,700 | ₦5,100 | 86 |
| Classic | Dish | ₦2,300 or ₦2,500 | ₦7,400 | 91 |
| Super | Dish | ₦3,300 | ₦9,800 | 105 |
| Chinese | Dish | No weekly price | ₦21,000 | 119 |
The monthly prices and channel counts are from the bouquet list on StarTimes’ mobile website, with two exceptions explained below. The weekly prices are from VTpass, one of the payment services StarTimes’ FAQ names, because StarTimes’ own pages show one price per bouquet and no weekly one.
We found no daily price. StarTimes’ pages give none, and the shortest period on VTpass’s list is a week.
Two prices to double-check
StarTimes Nigeria’s main website is little help: its Bouquets and Products pages are empty when the country is set to Nigeria. The bouquet list on its mobile site is the fullest one StarTimes publishes, and two of its entries look like copies of their neighbours.
- Antenna Super. StarTimes’ list shows ₦6,000, the same price and the same 101 channels as antenna Classic. VTpass charges ₦9,500 a month for it.
- Dish Classic. StarTimes’ list shows ₦9,800, the same price and the same 105 channels as dish Super. VTpass charges ₦7,400. StarTimes’ list also has an older entry called Special, with 91 channels, and “special” is the code VTpass still uses for the ₦7,400 dish Classic.
For those two we followed VTpass, since that is where money actually changes hands, and we used the Special list for dish Classic’s channels. Every other monthly price is the same in both places. VTpass itself lists two weekly prices for dish Classic, which is why the table does too. If you are paying for either bouquet, read the price on the payment screen before you confirm.
The dish bouquet now called Basic used to be Smart, at the same ₦5,100. StarTimes’ list still carries both names. If you know your dish bouquet as Smart, that is the one.
Antenna or dish: which is which
The antenna service is digital terrestrial TV, which StarTimes labels DTT. The decoder takes its signal from an aerial, indoors or on the roof, and it only works where StarTimes’ transmitters reach. Ask a dealer near you before buying one.
The dish service is satellite TV, labelled DTH for direct-to-home. It needs a dish and an LNB fitted outside, and somebody to fit them.
The bouquets are sold per platform. An antenna decoder takes the antenna bouquets and a dish decoder takes the dish ones. On StarTimes’ lists the antenna bouquets carry more Nigerian stations, among them the NTA regional channels, Silverbird and Wazobia TV. The dish bouquets swap many of those for French-language channels such as TV5 Monde and France 24.
What each bouquet shows
The channels named here are from the list StarTimes publishes for each bouquet.
Nova
The news-and-local package. On the antenna it has 32 channels: NTA News 24, Channels, TVC, Galaxy TV, Wazobia TV, the NTA Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo channels, ST Dadin Kowa, Orisun and JimJam for children. On the dish it has 48, with Channels, TVC News, AIT, Orisun, AMC Movies and Baby TV among them.
The only StarTimes sports channel in Nova is ST Sports Focus, which StarTimes describes as sports news with replays and highlights.
Basic
This is where StarTimes starts to look like pay TV. Basic adds ESPN, ST World Football, Real Madrid TV, Cartoon Network, Toonami, ST Kids, TLC, Nat Geo Wild, Zee Cinema, TNT Africa, Al Jazeera and Sky News on both platforms.
The antenna version has 81 channels and also lists AIT, Silverbird, BBC World News, ST Sports Life and ST Sports Arena. The dish version has 86 and also lists Zee One and ST Nollywood Plus.
Classic
Antenna Classic has 101 channels. Over Basic it adds ESPN 2, ST Sports Premium, Fox News, National Geographic, CBeebies, Baby TV, the two ST Movies channels, Star Plus, Zee One and Colors.
Dish Classic adds less. Its 91 channels are dish Basic plus BBC World News, Fox News, CBeebies, ST Movies and ST Novela E Plus.
Super
Dish Super has 105 channels. Over dish Classic it adds ESPN 2, ST Sports Premium, Fuel TV, Bloomberg, National Geographic, Star Plus, Colors and ST Movies Plus.
Antenna Super is the one we cannot describe. StarTimes’ list gives it exactly the channels of antenna Classic, so nothing StarTimes publishes shows what the extra ₦3,500 a month buys. Ask a StarTimes office for the channel list before paying for it.
Chinese and Global
The Chinese bouquet is dish Super plus 14 Chinese-language channels, CCTV and Phoenix among them, for ₦21,000. VTpass also sells a dish bouquet called Global at ₦21,000 a month or ₦7,000 a week. It is not on StarTimes’ list, so we have no channel list for it.
Which bouquet has football
StarTimes’ own TV guide lists matches from La Liga, the Bundesliga, the Saudi Pro League and the Carabao Cup, all from the 2026/27 season, on ST World Football, ST Sports Life, ST Sports Arena and ST Sports Premium. ST Sports Premium also has the Copa Libertadores.
We found no Premier League match in that guide. The only Champions League listings were Real Madrid’s own games on Real Madrid TV, the club’s channel. In Nigeria those two competitions are on DStv, and the Premier League is also on GOtv’s top package.
By bouquet, on StarTimes’ lists:
- Nova: ST Sports Focus only. Replays and highlights.
- Basic: ST World Football on both platforms. Antenna Basic also lists ST Sports Life and ST Sports Arena, and dish Basic lists ST Sports Arena. This is the football bouquet.
- Antenna Classic and dish Super: ST Sports Premium and ESPN 2 on top.
StarTimes said as much during this year’s World Cup. Its statement put all 104 matches on ST Sports Life and ST World Football, and said Basic subscribers could watch every one from ₦4,000 a month. That statement gave ST Sports Life two channel numbers, 253 and 243, one for each platform, although the dish lists on StarTimes’ site leave the channel out.
What a year costs
| Bouquet | Twelve monthly payments | Fifty-two weekly payments |
|---|---|---|
| Nova, antenna or dish | ₦25,200 | ₦36,400 |
| Basic, antenna | ₦48,000 | ₦72,800 |
| Classic, antenna | ₦72,000 | ₦104,000 |
| Super, antenna | ₦114,000 | ₦166,400 |
| Basic, dish | ₦61,200 | ₦88,400 |
| Classic, dish | ₦88,800 | ₦119,600 at ₦2,300 a week |
| Super, dish | ₦117,600 | ₦171,600 |
| Chinese, dish | ₦252,000 | No weekly price |
Paying by the week all year costs far more: ₦11,200 more on Nova and ₦54,000 more on dish Super. On most bouquets three weekly payments come to the monthly price or more. So the weekly price only saves money if you watch two weeks or fewer in a month.
StarTimes or GOtv
At the bottom, GOtv is cheaper. GOtv Smallie is ₦1,900 a month against Nova’s ₦2,100, and Smallie can be paid yearly for ₦15,000, which is ₦10,200 less than twelve months of Nova.
One step up, StarTimes gives more for the money. Antenna Basic is ₦4,000 for 81 listed channels with ST World Football. GOtv Jinja is ₦3,900 for 45+ channels, and GOtv’s football channels, SuperSport Football and SuperSport LaLiga, do not arrive until GOtv Max at ₦8,500.
For the Premier League, StarTimes is the wrong decoder. GOtv Supa Plus has the Premier League channel at ₦16,800 a month, and DStv Compact has it at ₦19,000. Our guides to GOtv packages and prices and DStv decoders and prices have the details.
Which one should you pick?
- Local stations and the news: Nova, on the antenna if you want the NTA regional channels. If that is all you watch, price GOtv Smallie’s yearly plan first.
- La Liga and the Bundesliga on a budget: Basic. ₦4,000 on the antenna, ₦5,100 on the dish.
- A family that wants cartoons, series and world news: antenna Basic already has Cartoon Network, BBC World News and Zee Cinema. Move to Classic for CBeebies, Baby TV, Star Plus and the ST Movies channels.
- The most sport StarTimes has: antenna Classic at ₦6,000, or dish Super at ₦9,800. On the dish that is ₦3,800 a month more than on the antenna, so the antenna is the better buy where the signal reaches.
- Dish Classic: hard to recommend. It costs ₦2,300 a month more than dish Basic for five extra channels on StarTimes’ list.
- The Premier League: not StarTimes.
StarTimes decoder prices
StarTimes’ website lists no decoder price for Nigeria. The only figures we found from StarTimes this year came in the statement announcing its World Cup promotion, which ran from 18 May to 31 July.
| Decoder | Price before the promotion | Promotion price |
|---|---|---|
| Dish decoder with accessories | ₦35,000 | ₦20,900 |
| Dish decoder, no accessories | ₦16,000 | ₦8,900 |
| Antenna decoder with accessories | ₦17,000 | ₦13,900 |
| Antenna decoder, no accessories | ₦14,000 | ₦7,900 |
The promotion’s end date has passed and we found nothing newer from StarTimes, so treat the first column as the price to expect and the second as the price to ask for. The statement did not say what the accessories are or whether fitting is included. Ask both questions before paying.
At the pre-promotion price, an antenna decoder with accessories and a year of Basic comes to ₦17,000 plus ₦48,000, which is ₦65,000. The dish equivalent is ₦35,000 plus ₦61,200, or ₦96,200.
StarTimes’ FAQ says decoders are sold at its business halls, dealer shops and supermarkets. Its call centre is 0201-4618888.
The StarTimes ON app
StarTimes ON is the company’s streaming app, on Google Play and the App Store. It does two jobs.
For decoder owners, it is a second screen. StarTimes’ FAQ says subscribers on selected bouquets get selected channels in the app at no extra cost while the decoder subscription is active. You link the decoder under “Me”, then “My StarTimes Decoder Service”, using the smart card number and the last six digits of the decoder number. The FAQ does not say which bouquets qualify, so check in the app.
For everyone else, it is sold on its own, by the day, week or month. StarTimes’ FAQ says the price is shown on the subscription page in the app. MTN’s website lists StarTimes ON plans paid with MTN airtime from ₦100 a day. Only one device can stream at a time.
How to pay for StarTimes
You need the smart card number, the 11 digits printed on the card in the decoder. StarTimes’ FAQ lists these ways to pay:
- The StarTimes ON app: tap “Me”, then “Recharge”, choose the bouquet and pay by card, bank account, mobile wallet or recharge card.
- PalmPay or OPay: open the TV section, choose StarTimes, enter the smart card number and pick the bouquet.
- Your bank’s USSD code: the FAQ lists 14 banks, among them *737# for GTBank, *894# for First Bank, *919# for UBA and *901# for Access. Choose bills, then cable TV, then StarTimes.
- Your bank’s app: Bills, then Cable TV, then StarTimes.
- In person: a StarTimes business hall, a dealer or a POS agent.
The FAQ also names VTpass, Capricorn, Credit Switch, Interswitch, Paga and Moniepoint. Whichever you use, StarTimes says to leave the decoder switched on while you pay.
