Google announced in their blog post yesterday that updates of the mobile Chrome browser for the Android and iOS would be rolled out in a couple of days and the good thing about this is that the browser would be able to compress data and data usage is expected to be decreased by 50%.
In the exact words from the blog post, here is what you are required to do after you get the update.
“To start saving data and turn on an even more secure browsing experience, visit “Settings” > “Bandwidth management” > “Reduce data usage.” Then simply turn the toggle to “On.” From this menu, you’ll also be able to track how much bandwidth you save each month as you browse on Chrome.”
This is great news to save yourself half the cost you must have spent using this mobile browser.

Yes, I saw that before about 2 weeks ago but it’s no longer there. I only see the preload page option in the bandwidth management menu. What do you think?
You saw it? They said it’ll be included in updates to come.
I’ve now updated my chrome browser and I’m glad to find it there again.
Thanks for bringing this post, this would really help iOS & Android Users to get the most out of what they pay for data.
