Google Chrome Mobile Update Will Decrease Data Usage by About 50%

Google announced in their blog post yesterday that updates of the mobile Chrome browser for the Android and iOS would be rolled out in a couple of days and the good thing about this is that the browser would be able to compress data and data usage is expected to be decreased by 50%.

In the exact words from the blog post, here is what you are required to do after you get the update.

“To start saving data and turn on an even more secure browsing experience, visit “Settings” > “Bandwidth management” > “Reduce data usage.” Then simply turn the toggle to “On.” From this menu, you’ll also be able to track how much bandwidth you save each month as you browse on Chrome.”

    Yes, I saw that before about 2 weeks ago but it’s no longer there. I only see the preload page option in the bandwidth management menu. What do you think?

      You saw it? They said it’ll be included in updates to come.
