GOtv Lite Channels List and the Cheapest GOtv Now in Nigeria

The Lite name went in 2020, when the package became GOtv Smallie, and Smallie has now gone as well. Nothing with either name is on sale. GOtv has not called any new package their successor, so this is our reading: Easy is the bottom rung today, and it is the list a Lite viewer wants to see.

Every channel on Easy, by number

This is everything on GOtv’s Easy page, which shows the channels as logos with their numbers.

That is 45 channels. GOtv advertises 47+ because its page files NTA News 24 and NTA Parliament under both news and local. Channel 124 carries only a plain NTA logo on the page, and its name here is from GOtv’s TV guide.

The 23 channels in GOtv Lite

The 23 people still search for was the size of the Lite line-up back in 2018. No package that small is sold now: Easy has nearly twice as many.

Yoruba channels, football and CNN

Yes to Yoruba, which used to need a dearer package. Africa Magic Yoruba is on Easy at channel 2, with the Hausa and Igbo channels beside it, and Lagos TV and OGTV are there for the Lagos and Ogun state stations.

Football is thin. Easy has SuperSport Blitz and SuperSport Africa and no football channel. SuperSport Kickoff and SuperSport LaLiga start at Starter, and SuperSport Football at Select.

CNN starts at Select too, but Easy does have BBC World News and Al Jazeera, along with Channels and Arise News. Children get Jim Jam and Moonbug Kids and no Cartoon Network. GOtv’s page shows no documentary channel, and Sound City is the only music one.

What going from Smallie to Easy costs

Smallie was ₦1,900 a month, ₦5,100 a quarter or ₦15,000 a year. GOtv’s Easy page has one price, ₦4,000 a month, which comes to ₦48,000 over twelve months. That is ₦25,200 more than Smallie paid monthly and ₦33,000 more than Smallie paid yearly.

For that, Easy adds 13 channels to Smallie’s page: Africa Magic Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Epic, Bravo, Real Time, SuperSport Africa, Moonbug Kids, Sound City, Arise News, News Central, BBC World News and Tiwa N Tiwa. It drops ONMAX and the Naija FM and Wazobia FM radio stations. None of those three is on any new package page.

MultiChoice says active subscribers move automatically from 5 November, and anyone who has paid ahead keeps the package they paid for until that time runs out. If you bought a year of Smallie, that should carry you for a while. Lite itself is a distant memory by now: a full year of it cost ₦3,180 in 2020, which does not cover one month of Easy.

Stepping up to Starter

Starter is ₦6,000 a month, ₦2,000 more than Easy or ₦24,000 a year. It adds 21 channels, among them Zee World, Telemundo, Cartoon Network, Disney Junior, ESPN, SuperSport Kickoff and SuperSport LaLiga. The full list is in our page on GOtv Plus channels.

Easy is the right package when the decoder is there for local stations and the news. Anyone at home who wants football or a real children’s channel should pay the extra ₦2,000. All four sit side by side under GOtv packages and prices.
