Best Nokia Phone Left to Buy Is a Button Phone
No Nokia smartphone is sold new any more. HMD still makes Nokia button phones, in fewer countries, and now puts its own name on its Android phones.
The best Nokia phone you can buy new is a button phone, because that is the only kind left. Our pick is the Nokia 3210 4G. For a flip phone, take the HMD 2660 Flip where it is sold, for its USB-C port, or the Nokia 2660 Flip 4G in India. The longest battery for the least money is on the Nokia 300 Charge, if your network still has 2G.
Nokia itself does not make them. They come from HMD, which holds the licence to the Nokia name on phones and now shows its Nokia smartphones for support only.

Nokia phones you can still buy
Specifications are from HMD’s spec sheets. Prices, rounded, are from HMD’s India store, the one HMD store we found that prices the Nokia-branded range. All but the Nokia 105 were in stock there.

Nokia 3210 4G
This is HMD’s remake of the original 3210, and what to buy if you want a keypad Nokia. It has a 2MP camera with a flash, Bluetooth 5.0, an FM radio, a headphone jack, two SIM slots, a microSD slot for cards of up to 32GB and up to 9.8 hours of talk time. HMD’s India page lists Snake. HMD also sells the same hardware as the HMD 3210. Its UK shop has that version, with the same screen, camera and battery, for about £75, and HMD describes it as free from apps and notifications. HMD 3210 on Amazon
Nokia 235 4G
The same battery and 2MP camera behind a larger screen, for a little less than the 3210 in India. HMD’s international site also shows a 2nd Edition with an IPS screen and a front camera for video calls.
Nokia 2660 Flip 4G
The version on HMD’s India store is the older design: it charges by Micro USB and has a 0.3MP camera and Bluetooth 4.2. HMD’s UK shop sells the newer HMD 2660 Flip for about £80, with USB-C, Bluetooth 5.0 and an IP54 rating against dust and splashes. Where you have the choice, take the HMD one. HMD 2660 Flip on Amazon
Nokia 300 Charge and Nokia 123 Shield
These two are marked new on HMD’s India store. HMD calls the 300 Charge’s battery its biggest in a feature phone, with up to 40 days on standby, and it can charge another device at 10W. The 123 Shield is what HMD calls its most affordable water and dust-resistant Nokia phone.
Both work on 2G only. HMD lists the GSM 900 and 1800 bands and nothing else, so they are for countries where a 2G network is still running. The same goes for the Nokia 105.
Button phones from other makers, and minimalist phones with maps or a hotspot, are among the best dumb phones.
Where HMD sells its phones
- In the United Kingdom, HMD’s shop sells HMD-branded phones only. The Nokia button phones sit on a separate product-information page of its UK site.
- In India the store sells both brands. The Nokia feature phones were in stock. Most of the HMD smartphones were not: the Skyline, Fusion, Crest 5G and Crest Max 5G all showed as out of stock, and the Vibe2 5G was available.
- In Nigeria, HMD’s site lists Nokia feature phones and HMD smartphones without prices and sends buyers to the retailer Slot.
- In the United States, HMD’s country list has no entry, and the US address forwards to its international pages.
- In Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium, HMD’s pages state that its smartphones are not available. Its German site lists feature phones only.
Is there a new Nokia Android phone?
No. HMD keeps a page called Nokia smartphones and tablets, which lists the Nokia XR21, G42 5G, C32, G22 and older models. Each one links to a user guide, not to a shop, and HMD’s smartphone pages describe that page as the place to find product support. Its page for the Nokia G42 5G says the phone is no longer available and suggests an HMD phone in its place.
HMD’s security updates page still covers Nokia smartphones, which matters if you own one. A Nokia smartphone offered as new on a marketplace today is old stock, so look the model up on that page before paying.
HMD smartphones in their place
These are the main Android phones on HMD’s UK and India sites, with HMD’s own prices.
| Phone | Screen | Chipset | Rear cameras | Battery | Updates HMD promises | HMD’s price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HMD Skyline | 6.55-inch OLED, 144Hz | Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 | 108MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, 50MP telephoto | 4,600mAh, 33W | 2 Android upgrades, 3 years of security | about £240 in the UK |
| HMD Fusion | 6.56-inch HD+, 90Hz | Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | 108MP main, 2MP depth | 5,000mAh, 33W | 2 Android upgrades, 3 years of security | from about ₹20,000 in India |
| HMD Vibe2 5G | 6.75-inch HD+, 120Hz | Unisoc T8200 | 50MP | 6,000mAh, 18W | 2 years of quarterly security updates | about ₹14,000 in India |
| HMD Aura² | 6.52-inch HD, 60Hz | Unisoc 9863A | 13MP | 5,000mAh, 10W | 2 years of quarterly security updates | about £85 in the UK |
The HMD Skyline is the best equipped, and suits you if two Android upgrades are enough. It has an optically stabilised 108MP camera, a 50MP front camera, wireless charging, a microSD slot and a battery HMD describes as replaceable. HMD’s UK shop had it at about £240, down from £299.99. It shipped with Android 14, so Android 16 is where it stops. HMD Skyline on Amazon
The HMD Vibe2 5G is the newest of the four. It ships with Android 16 and has the largest battery, but its screen is HD+ and HMD promises security updates only. The HMD Aura² is the cheapest, and HMD’s UK shop showed it out of stock.
The short update periods are the weakness of the whole range. Sony promises up to four Android upgrades and up to six years of security updates on its mid-range Xperia 10 VIII, which costs more than twice as much as the Skyline. Longer promises turn up in the best phones to buy in dollars, rupees and naira.
Is HMD the same as Nokia?
No. HMD is a separate Finnish company that licenses the Nokia name, though Nokia’s annual report for 2025 says Nokia has owned a stake in it since 2020.
The same report sets out the licence. In 2016 Nokia gave HMD an exclusive worldwide licence to make Nokia-branded phones and tablets for ten years. In 2023 the two companies changed the agreement so that the exclusive licence would run out by early 2026. In October 2025 they agreed to extend the licence for Nokia-branded feature phones until 2029, in what Nokia calls limited countries.
So the Nokia name lives on, for button phones only and not everywhere. HMD’s About page describes the company as the maker of Nokia feature phones and of HMD smartphones, and every page of its site carries the line that HMD is a licensee of the Nokia brand for phones. On nokia.com, the page for licensed products sends anyone looking for phones to HMD’s support site.
