The latest generation Red Magic phone had its China-exclusive launch on December 26 2022, and now the 8-series is ready to hit the global market. The company modified the branding slightly such that there is no longer a Pro+ model, only the Void.
The RedMagic 8 Pro combines cutting-edge AMOLED display technology, cutting-edge internals, and a disproportionate quantity of battery (Global Edition). It also distinguishes itself with its “sci-fi-inspired” appearance, which includes an exposed, active, and RGB-lit fan in its higher-end Void SKU.
The latest gaming smartphone has been redesigned, with sharp angular angles typical of the Razer Phone from a few years ago. However, unlike the Razer with hefty bezels, this gadget has almost no bezels and no notch. The RedMagic 8 Pro employs a futuristic under-panel selfie camera, just like the 7S Pro we tested last year.

As a result, you get a wonderful uninterrupted full-screen gaming experience and some less-than-ideal selfie snaps if previous releases are any indication. The RedMagic 8 Pro features the latest and finest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, so the improvements go beyond the surface. Active cooling and upgraded vapor chamber technology aid in enhancing gaming performance. This powerful processor is paired with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of fast UFS 4.0 storage.
The phone comes with a 6000 mAh battery with a 65W GaN charger to keep you gaming all day. The included charger charges the device from empty to full in 43 minutes. It has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, just like its predecessor. This time, though, it receives a big brightness boost, with a maximum output of 1300 nits.

The RedMagic 8 Pro offers two color options: stealthy matte black or transparent-backed with an RGB fan and gold accents.
Except for the main back snapper, the cameras are the same as those found on the RedMagic 7 Pro and 7S Pro. The sensor has been updated to a 50MP Samsung GN5, the largest and most powerful sensor on a RedMagic device.
If you want one, you can do so starting February 2. The 12GB+256GB variant will cost $649 / €649 / £579, while the 16GB+512GB model will cost $799 / €749 / £709.
