Earlier this year Motorola unveiled a fresh trilogy of standard mid-range smartphones, the Motorola 20 Edge, Motorola 20 Edge Pro, and the Motorola 20 Edge Lite. Considered one of the best premium affordable phones of 2021 with really amazing features and upgrades, here is the full review of the Motorola Edge 20.
What’s in the Box?
Besides the Edge 20 itself, you’ll find a 30Watts adapter, a type C USB cable, the phone guide and a preinstalled phone case in the Motorola Edge 20’s box.
Design and Display
Once you pick up the Edge 20, the first you will notice is how slim the phone is. The Edge 20 is 7mm thin, one of the thinnest phones made by Motorola with flat sides and screen.
The Edge 20 is quite a handful with its impressive 6.7 inches OLED Screen. The whole profile is covered with an aluminum frame with a beautiful matt finishing at the back. Overall, the device looks neat and has a premium feel.

The Edge 20 is IP 52 water and dust repellant, the device is not water resistant. It can take a few splashes but it is not advisable to dunk the phone entirely into a pool or something. The device supports a dual sim card tray with no space for storage expansion through a microSD card.
The Edge 20 has an amazing display as a result of its massive 6.7 OLED screen with full HDR 10 plus support and 10 bits color. Images look natural and colors can be easily saturated through the device’s setting.
The screen is reasonably protected by the Gorilla Glass 3 piece, not quite impressive but it will be a little hard to scratch the surface. Although the Egde 20 does not feature a stereo setup it has a really slim earpiece.
Software and Performance
The Motorola Edge 20 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC 5G which packs an Octa-core Kryo 670 CPU in a 1+3+4 configuration with a Cortex-A78 based prime core (to 2.4Ghz), 2.2GHz and Cortex A55 up to 1.9GHz. The processor is backed by Adreno 642L engine which is capable of handling intensive games.
The device has a fully built in 5G modem. The memory configuration starts at the base of 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The Edge 20 has a 144Hz refresh rate in adiition to reportedly 578Hz peak touch sampling rate. The device supports a Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6c, NFC and six satellite navigation systems. It runs the Android 11 with the Motorola’s My UX user interface. The company has also promised two years of android and security updates. Meaning that, the Edge 20 will have no problem running the Android 13 in the future.
Overall, the Motorola Edge 20 has an easy and smooth interface which can be handled easily by users; it also maintains a high performance even with intensive gaming. The device easily handles intensive 3D games and does not heat up.
Camera
The Motorola Edge 20 has a triple rear camera setup, a 108MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The camera zoom goes up to 30X. The device also has a 32MP selfie camera.

Battery
The Motorola Edge 20 has a 4000mAh battery capacity. With casual usage, the battery last for about a day and about 11 hours with intense HD streaming and usage.
To power up the battery, there is the 30W adapter and the type C USB cable. Charging is relatively fast as the device goes from zero to 100% in about one hour.
Verdict
Arguably one of the best mid-range phones of 2021, the Motorola Edge 20 performs solidly. The specs are incredible with little to no faults, the cameras do a great job and the battery capacity is decent. Overall a great phone that’s worth your money.
